If you give me ₦30 million to buy a car today, I already know the kind of cars I’ll be looking at. I want something beautiful. Something I can drive through Benin City, park outside a nice restaurant, and still turn back to admire before walking away.
But I don’t want to spend all my money buying a car and start struggling to maintain it.
Let me show you the 10 cars I’d consider and what I honestly think about each one.
1. Toyota Camry 2018–2020: The Camry that will make you Yappy
The 2018 Camry is one of those cars that makes you appreciate Toyota’s design. The sharp headlights, aggressive front and sporty body make it look more expensive than an ordinary sedan.
I’d look for a clean 2018 or 2019 Toyota Camry, preferably in black or white.
I would enjoy driving this car around town and taking it on longer trips. It gives me that modern, mature feeling without trying too hard. “Go hard or go home”
My only concern? I wouldn’t buy one without checking the transmission, accident history and service records. I’d rather buy a clean older model than a newer car with hidden problems. I want peace of mind not gbasgbos!
2. Mercedes-Benz GLE 350 2016–2017: That Big-Boy Feeling
Honestly, there’s something about a clean GLE that attracts me. The height, the Mercedes-Benz badge and the way the SUV sits on the road give it a commanding presence.
I’d consider a 2016 or 2017 Mercedes-Benz GLE 350, depending on the price and condition. I wont let anyone play me., I’m Lawrencegotkeys
I’d want Blue paint, a neat interior and wheels that suit the car without unnecessary modifications.
But I wouldn’t buy one simply because it’s a Benz. I’d inspect the suspension, gearbox, engine and electronics. Luxury feels good until you buy someone else’s neglected problems. This time, my eyews have opened, drove one benz in benin city that was jerking like what I don’t know
3. Audi A6 2016–2017: Understated Luxury
The Audi A6 is for someone who doesn’t need to shout to look successful. Money na water C.P
I like the clean body lines and the premium feel of the interior. I’d consider a 2016 or 2017 Audi A6 in black, silver or white.
I’d drive it smoothly and enjoy the comfort, especially on longer journeys.
Before buying, I’d check the engine, transmission, electronics and availability of competent mechanics. I don’t want to own a car I cannot maintain properly.
4. Chevrolet Camaro 2013–2015: Be like Abuja Boys
Now, the Camaro is a different conversation.
This is the car I’d consider when I want something sporty and aggressive. Or if I want to copy good abuja boys. The low body and muscular styling make it stand out.
I’d look for a clean 2013–2015 Chevrolet Camaro.
I’d enjoy taking it out on a good road, but I wouldn’t treat Benin’s potholes like a challenge. I’d check ground clearance, tyres, cooling and accident history before buying.
5. Honda Accord 2018–2019: Clean and Classy
The 2018 Honda Accord looks modern without being excessive. I like that balance.
I’d choose black or white and keep the car clean rather than spending money on modifications that don’t improve it.
It’s the kind of sedan I’d consider for daily driving, business meetings and longer trips.
I’d check the transmission, engine and service history before making a decision.
6. Lexus RX 350 2013–2015: Comfort Is the Attraction
If I wanted an SUV that feels comfortable and premium, the 2014 or 2015 Lexus RX 350 would be on my list.
I like the high seating position and spacious interior. It gives me that relaxed feeling of driving a proper luxury SUV.
I’d inspect the suspension, engine and transmission carefully. A clean example matters more to me than the model year.
7. Toyota Venza 2015: Different From the Usual
The 2015 Toyota Venza appeals to me because it combines a stylish shape with everyday practicality.
I’d choose a clean one with a good interior and drive it as a comfortable daily car.
I’d check the suspension, transmission and underbody before paying.
8. Lexus ES 350 2015–2016: Quiet Confidence
The Lexus ES 350 is a car I’d consider for comfort and understated class.
I don’t need every car I drive to look aggressive. Sometimes, I want something elegant that feels good on a long journey.
I’d inspect the engine, suspension and electronics before buying.
9. Honda Civic 2018: Young and Sporty
The 2018 Honda Civic is for someone who wants a modern, youthful car without buying a large sedan.
I’d choose a clean example and enjoy its sporty styling.
I’d check the transmission, accident history and turbocharger condition where applicable.
10. Mazda 6 2017–2018: The Underrated Choice
The 2017 or 2018 Mazda 6 deserves attention. Its sleek body and attractive interior make it a serious alternative to the usual choices.
I’d consider one if I could verify its history and find reliable servicing and parts.
What Would I Actually Buy? Let’s be honest
If I had ₦30 million, I would buy either the Toyota Camry 2018, Mercedes-Benz GLE 350 2016, and Lexus RX 350 2014–2015. I won’t rush, I will take my time to get a clean one.
The Camry gives me modern styling. The GLE gives me presence. The RX gives me comfort. I would have to decide my honest options.
But I wouldn’t spend every naira buying the car. I’d keep money aside for inspection, servicing, tyres and unexpected repairs. Because if person no wise for benin, e fit no wise again
For me Lawrence, a beautiful car is the one I can afford to buy, I will enjoy driving and maintain without turning my happiness into a financial problem. I will by a car that will not stress me or distract in public me. How about you?
